Moriggi Angela

Dr. Angela Moriggi is currently Marie Curie Individual Fellow at the Dept. of Land, Environment, Agriculture and Forestry of the University of Padova, Italy. 

She is a social scientist working for transdisciplinary sustainability projects since 2013, with extensive fieldwork experience in China, Finland, and Italy, mostly in rural-mountain areas. Her research has focused on various dimensions of socio-ecological change (e.g. sustainable rural development, nature-based social entrepreneurship, environmental activism and governance, human-nature relationships, etc.). 

The red thread in her work is the design, use, and evaluation of participatory, visual, and arts-based methodologies to engage different societal stakeholders and to promote transformative learning approaches in academia.  

She's co-founder of Re.imaginary – database of arts-based methods for regenerative sustainability; co-creator of Sustain-ability, online course for all newly enrolled students at UniPD; co-creator of the Care-full scholarship MOOC (Coventry University). She also co-created innovative science communication outputs such as Once Upon the Future  – children book on place-based agency, and Nature as Pathway - video-documentary on her participatory research in Finland. 

Dr. Moriggi holds a PhD in Rural Sociology from Wageningen University (NE). Her PhD study focused on Green Care practices in Finland and their connection to place-based sustainability.
