Bonardi Pellizzari Carolina

PhD student in the Land, Environment, Resources and Health (LERH) program.

MSc degree obtained in 2022 in the Forest Science Program of the University of Padova (Forest and nature for the future curriculum).

Currently living in Padova (since 2020), originally from Brazil, where I completed my BSc in Forestry Engineering in 2015, and a post-graduation in Environmental Law in 2017.

Before arriving in Padova, I had five years of professional experience in Brazil working in consulting companies of the forest sector, developing technical skills such as biological assets valuation (mostly planted forests and land) and forest market studies (timber supply, demand, and price analysis). During that period, I had the opportunity to visit different places and meet a variety of stakeholders during each project, including clients in Brazil, New Zealand, and the USA. I worked on both Portuguese and English written projects.

While I was in my first year of the MSc, I got to do an internship at FAO's Forestry Division in Rome when I contributed to the project "Wild Plants Programme: Enabling forest-based contributions to healthy food systems 2022-2030". Also during the first year, I participated in a project called "Rethinking Climate Risk" with UNIPD and six other European Universities, when we carried out a study on the impacts in the ecosystem of the Venetian lagoon, resulting from the current "man-made" mechanisms used to decrease the damages from sea-level rise in the city of Venice.

After getting the MSc degree and before starting the PhD, I worked for 9 months as a research fellow in the TESAF department of the University of Padova.

I speak Portuguese (mother language), English (C1), and Italian (C1).
