Profilo personale: Leonel Ferreira Helena

Project Officer at Etifor, Helena is specialized in assessing supply chains of commodities at risk of deforestation, and is the EMMA4U project coordinator.

She holds Bachelor’s degrees in both Biology and in Science Teaching by the University of São Paulo (Brazil), and a Master’s degree in Sustainable Tropical Forestry from the University of Padova and University of Copenhagen.
Helena supports companies in mapping supply chains, tracing commodities, assessing risks and impacts on nature, and developing strategies for achieving deforestation-free supply chains. She has past experience in the third sector with monitoring social-environmental policies implementation in Brazil, and community-based management of natural resources.
