The course will introduce the basic concepts and practices of forest operations within the context of managing forest resources and ecosystems sustainability.
The course will explain timber harvesting processes and highlight the interactions between logging, roads and transport systems. Basic concepts to evaluate and synthesize environmental aspects to determine and describe appropriate harvesting technology and mitigating measures to reduce timber harvesting impacts will be introduced.
